Topics that fit

We consider original proposals about routines, shared household life, belongings, home rituals and leisure. A strong idea has a clear focus, an identifiable reader and a useful angle, rather than a broad promise to cover everything about a subject.

What to include

Briefly describe the proposed piece, its central point, the kind of reader it serves and how you would approach it. Tell us about relevant experience honestly, but do not imply credentials or access you do not have. A short sample or outline may help explain the voice and scope.

What we look for

We favour specific, readable work that is careful with claims and respectful of different households. Pitches should offer original thinking, not recycled advice or unsupported certainty. We do not consider proposals that require readers to undertake hazardous tasks or make professional decisions.
